It can certainly be a bit more difficult to find winter activities to do with your under 5 year old children here in Park City. However, rest assured there is still plenty to keep families with all ages busy and having fun! Here’s a list of our best suggestions for families with children 5 years old and under in Park City.
Snowmobiling
While children under 16 and those lacking a valid drivers license aren’t old enough to drive, both companies we work with have pretty low minimum ages! Red Pine Adventures will accept passengers as young as five, and Summit Meadows will let you bring your three year old’s and up along! Both companies offer guided rides over groomed trails offering spectacular views, making snowmobiling an activity something exciting for you to do with your kiddos!
Heber Valley Train
The Heber Valley train offers families a low key adventure with some spectacular sight seeing that you can enjoy with young ones of any age! Just 20 minutes from Park City, the train offers themed rides such as Chocolate Lovers or Princess and Pirate as well as more regular scenic rides. The array of activity options ensures that they have an option for every family.
Park City Ice Rink
The ice rink is the perfect place to spend a few hours with your family. They accept individuals of all ages during the open skate hours, and even have ice skate walkers available for your small kiddos!
Snowshoe to Smores
After a day on the slopes separate from your kids while they’ve been in a ski lesson, what better way to end your day as a family than with a snowshoe to smores? The 10 minute snowshoe around the Deer Valley ponds won’t be too much for your younger children to handle after a day of skiing, and then you get to relax and catch up around a fire while enjoying smores and hot chocolate.
Utah Olympic Park
The 400 acre grounds built for the 2000 Winter Olympics has been turned into a great activity center that the whole family can enjoy. With a museum dedicated to the history of skiing inside, with many fun hands on exhibits, to activities the older kids can do, and a plethora of hiking trails the whole family can explore together, the UOP is a great way to spend a day with the whole family.
Woodward Park City
While the full snowtubing is a great activity to enjoy for children aged four and up, Woodward also offers access for 3-5 year old’s on the lower lanes of tubing with a Micro Ticket!
Sleigh Rides
Sleigh Rides are a great activity to get your children outside in the snow, Snowed Inn offers a night time experience that includes dinner and entertainment along with your ride! Broken Arrow also offer nighttime rides across Deer Valley Resort, and depending where you’re staying, might be able to pick you up right from your hotel!
