What is Mountain Biking?
We offer guided rides on full suspension mountain bikes which are designed to take on the challenging terrain that the Rocky Mountains offer. There is a variety of exciting options for interested bikers of all levels; hundreds of miles of single-track terrain await you in Park City. On a mountain biking trip, we equip you with the gear and guide you need to have an enjoyable experience. We offer trips by experience level – beginner, beginner/intermediate, intermediate, and advanced. Our guides will customize your ride to best fit your abilities and desires.
Before Your Trip
Prior to your trip the most important thing we need from you is everyone’s heights (to provide the appropriate sized bike) and experience level. If you are more of an experience rider and bringing along your biking shoes, we can provide SPD pedals and Crank Bros. Just let us know and we can make sure the pedals you need are ready for you! We will also need a liability waiver for each participant, which you will find attached to your reservation under the blue “View Required Documents” button.
Beginner/Intermediate Rides:
Beginner and intermediate rides take place at Round Valley, located 10 minutes from Park City’s main street. This is our most popular option. Here you can enjoy a mild double track dirt trail that are great for families or anyone wanting a leisurely ride with panoramic views of the mountains. In this location there are also great single track trail options for anyone looking for a bit more of a challenge. The route your guide chooses will be customized to the expectation and experience of your group. Afterwards, you can enjoy snacks and drinks and will be shuttled back to your hotel. Expect the duration of this activity to take 2.5 hours door-to-door.
Intermediate/Advanced Rides:
Our intermediate to advanced rides are for experienced, and avid mountain bikers. We provide shuttled rides that are two hours of fun, but challenging terrain. Riders should be comfortable with obstacles including but not limited to rocks, roots, tight switchbacks, steep sections of trail, and longer duration uphill portions as well.
FAQs
What is Included?
When your guide picks you up they will have bikes, helmets, water, and some light snacks like granola bars and/or chips.
What Do I Wear?
Your layers for biking will differ depending on the season you are biking. You are in charge of wearing whatever layers you are going to be most comfortable in for the current weather. For summer, shorts/light weight pants and a t-shirt, or a light sun shirt should be okay. For fall, and spring, light layers that you can add or take off as needed will help. Temperatures can fluctuate quickly and storms can appear out of nowhere so a light weight jacket is always a good idea! Please keep in mind that mountain biking is an aerobic activity, and you will warm up on the trail.
What Should I Bring?
We try to make our trips as easy as possible for our guests! Your guide will have some water, soda, and light snacks such as granola bars. If you would like any additional food or drink you are more than welcome to bring that with you. Otherwise you should not have to bring too much besides yourself! If you are more of an experience rider and bringing along your biking shoes, we can provide SPD pedals and Crank Bros. Just let us know and we can make sure the pedals you need are ready for you!
