What is Trap Shooting?
Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting. Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4 1/4 inch disc that is launched from the trap house. You can expect quality instruction to help you have success. Your guide will talk you through gun safety before you line up on platforms. Guests should expect to be handling large 12-gauge shotguns that do provide recoil when firing.
Before Your Trip
Prior to the day of your adventure the most important thing we need from you is your liability waiver, which you will find attached to your reservation under the blue “View Required Documents” button.
What is Included?
When your guides pick you up they will have water, and some light snacks like granola bars and chips. 12-gauge shotguns, ear plugs, 50 shells per person, safety glasses, and instruction are all included.
Please expect to be gone about 2.5 hours door-to-door. The Gun Club is located about 20 minutes from from Main Street in Park City, Utah. You are welcome to drive yourselves if preferred. The time listed on your reservation is the pickup to drop off time. Return time can vary and is dependent on number of shooters and efficiency. Following safety and instruction, guests can expect two rounds of shooting. Each round involves a rotation between 5 shooters, each shooter will be scored on 25 shots either being a hit or miss.
What Do I Wear?
You will be outside in the elements and not actively moving, so please dress for the weather. The range is exposed with little shade and can get windy at times. Please avoid wearing heels, we recommend a sneaker or sturdy boot.
What Should I Bring?
Extra layers are never a bad idea to bring along, and you can leave them in the vehicle if needed. Your guide will bring a cooler in the van filled with water, soda, and light snacks like granola bars and chips. If you’d like any snacks or treats besides granola bars or chips you are more than welcome to bring that as well. Alcohol consumption before or during the event is strictly prohibited.
